Born 2 Be is a therapeutic riding and carriage driving program dedicated to providing the opportunity for individuals to become all they were Born 2 Be through a partnership with the horse. Born 2 Be is a PATH Member Center and instructors are CTRI certified. We serve individuals with physical, educational, intellectual, and emotional disabilities. Participants range in age from five to senior adults. It is not just teaching horsemanship skills. It is about hearing first words, taking first steps and gaining independence. Born 2 Be is a small, family-oriented center. We are volunteer based relying on amazing people who give of their time to provide a hopeful, helpful, and healthy environment to see disabilities turn into possibilities. Our goal is to ensure that volunteers find their time valued, appreciated, rewarding and enjoyable. Born 2 Be is grateful for our incredible herd of therapy horses for they make the magic happen.

Valerie has 25+ years of experience in non-profit management.  In 1999 she was recognized as a Heroes for Children by the State Board of Education.  In 2005 and 2013 she received Citizen of the Year by the Sanger Area Chamber of Commerce and in 2014 awarded the Spirit Award as a Heart and Hero's Recipient from Health Services of North Texas. Valerie serves on the Advisory Council of Texas Education Foundation Network, honorary membership with both the Rotary Club of Sanger and Lion's Club and memberships with TSPRA, TEFN and NSFA.  In 2016,she completed her CEFL Certification through the National University of San Diego California. 

I represent the Sanger TX Senior Center as the elected Board President.  Along with five additional Board Members, we’re a volunteer full operational governing body for the Senior Center. We are supported by the City of Sanger as they are allowing us to lease a city owned facility. 
Our mission is to provide a community based location where our Senior Community (50+) can find social opportunities to meet new friends, pursue hobbies and pastimes with other likeminded individual; provide educational opportunities in nutrition, health, safety and other vital information; various exercise classes; and to have our Seniors connect to the community.
Our goal is to have a Senior Center that will become a focal point for our community and an asset to the city of Sanger.
